Hot, hot, hot? Got Milk?

So, I decided to share this funny story:

I think it was like the second time I made the curry chicken risotto; I ended up putting in about a teaspoon of cayenne pepper!

I thought John and I were going to die! It was so hot, we couldn't eat it! We tried, but we were crying, it was so spicy! That made us laugh, and well, cry even more!

Well as you can see, the recipe makes for a LOT of food, and I felt just awful about throwing it away. So I didn't. Determined to eat the food, I sat down the next day for lunch with a big glass of milk. Sure enough, it worked! Since then I have read that when you have really spicy food, a glass of milk is the ideal drink to have on the table.
So next time the buffalo wings, chili, or jalapenos are setting your mouth on fire, reach for the milk!

  1. Jim, milk always works for me. Whether it is Indian Curry or a Texas Chili, milk does the trick to soothe my stomach.
